Recreational fishing is a valued and popular activity in South Australia with around 277,000 people enjoying this activity each year.

To help the recreational fishing sector grow, stay sustainable and secure, MRFAC have developed a draft Recreational Fishing Strategy for South Australia.

It has drawn upon the feedback from more than 4,000 survey responses to the MRFAC recreational fishing priorities survey (PDF, 268.9 KB) and significant input from MRFAC members.

When complete, the strategy will help to manage resources to better address priority growth areas to the benefit of recreational fishing.

Public consultation on the strategy was undertaken from 18 March to 30 April 2021. The MRFAC will consider all feedback before finalising the Recreational Fishing Strategy for South Australia.
